On September 14th, the Bank of Italy published on its website a report on the implementation status of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
The report analysed the progress made in the second half of 2022 and the first half of 2023, taking into account the changes in the geopolitical context and the encountered difficulties.
According to the report, Italy received 35% of the PNRR funds in the first six months of 2023, amounting to approximately 25.7 billion euro. However, the disbursement of the resources has been mainly due to delays in tendering processes and initial project phases.
In any case, a more timely use of the resources is expected in the coming years, with a peak in 2024/2025.
