Bank of Italy – Changes regarding counterparty risk

On June 11th, the Bank of Italy launched a public consultation concerning the amendment of provisions related to counterparty credit risk for financial intermediaries under Article 106 of the TUB (Consolidated Law on Banking).
The aim of the public consultation is to extend the prudential regulations on counterparty credit risk, which already apply to banks under Regulation (EU) 2013/575, to the intermediaries referred to in Article 106 of the TUB.
The Bank of Italy therefore invites financial intermediaries, parent companies of Italian financial groups, trade associations and any interested parties to submit their comments and observations via the document available on the Bank of Italy’s website by the final deadline of August 12th.
